Background

Mathematics is the language of nature.
Everything around us can be represented by and understood through numbers.
If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns will emerge.
A true random number generator has not been created yet.

I am currently in the process of writing a program that forecasts lottery numbers. This program will probably always remain a "work in progress" and as a result may never be available to anyone other than myself. My goal is to be able to make money playing the lottery, not necessaryily playing every drawing (not to hit the jackpot every drawing).

Currently my program retrieves the drawing data from a variety of sources on the internet, then performs a variety of analysis using parameters that I have defined (and can adjust as necessary) to weight the numbers accordingly. Each lottery is analyzed and weighted according to it's own individual parameters, so the forecasts are tailored to a specific lottery and should not be used for a different lottery. Even two 6/49 lotteries will have significantly different forecasts depending on their own historical data and the parameters I have configured.

I do not analyze bonus draws or draws from seperate pools. I consider bonus draws to be just that - a bonus! Numbers drawn from seperate pools are the lottery's attempt to make more money, build higher jackpots, and prevent people from doing what I am attempting to do here.

Don't believe I can forecast the lottery? Keep in mind that - "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while", and "I'd rather be lucky than good."

I believe that my results will stand up to scrutiny. Don't jump to conclusions and base your evaluation of my forecasts on a single drawing for any one lottery. Look at the overall results and then decide if you think I'm on the right track, or out of my mind.

Web Site

This is a "no frills" and for the most part - text only website, I'm not going to put alot of time into fancy graphics and other such things.

The purpose of this website is to provide a window into the data generated by my program. Be patient waiting for pages to load - the databases are large and there are many queries performed during the loading of some pages. The data portion of this website is completely dynamic, as soon as lottery results are available on the internet - my program downloads the winning numbers, checks results, and generates the next forecast based that lottery's parameters.

Lotteries

The lotteries listed here are the lotteries that I am currently forecasting, I plan to continue adding more. If your favorite lottery is not listed here, feel free to ask me and if the results are reliably available on line I will add it to my system. I can put any lottery into the forecasting system.

The amount of history data I have for most lotteries is limited to a few drawings, things work best when I have somewhere over 30 drawings worth of information. If you have lottery history data that you would like to see me include, then please send it to me - this will improve the accuracy of the forecasts.

Forecast Data

My forecast will always show all of the available numbers for a given lottery. The forecast is actually a ranked list of the numbers - the numbers are listed in the order that my program thinks they are likely to be drawn.

If you have ideas on forecasting, feel free to let me know - I may already be using some of those ideas. I"ve searched the internet, and read many books by self proclaimed experts, some with good information, some without. I'm always open to new ideas of how to analyze the historical data. I also have my own insights into things that I have included in my program.

Forecasts will improve, I will be changing the parameters for each lottery, and I have plans for new analysis to add to my forecasting program.

Keep in mind that I must manually optimize the parameters for each lottery, this takes a significant amount of time. Any lottery where there are less than 30 data records optimization of parameters is not possible. Any lottery where there are less than 10 data records will not have any forecasts.

Random Forecast Data

This is actually pseudo-random, it is generated by a program. Programs can produce pseudo-random numbers, but they require a parameter called a seed - if you use the same seed, you will get an identical set of random numbers from the program every time.

I include this data only as a "control".

I believe that "random" is a concept that can never be achieved. Even using computers - if you ask your computer for a random number (using whatever method you choose), it isn't really random - the routine which generated the random number requires a seed, making it "pseudo-random" - since it is based on the seed provided, so if you start your computer each day and get a random number sequence using 1 as a seed, you will always get the same sequence of "random" numbers - not very random, is it? Most programs, in order to avoid this situation will use the number of seconds past midnight or clock ticks as the seed when the random number generator is initialized.

Wheel Systems

The only way to win the lottery is to use "Wheel" systems, if you don"t know what those are then you should look it up somewhere - I'm not going to explain it here now. There are many resources for wheels and wheel generators available on the internet. I'll be adding more wheels as I find time, or wheel systems of interest. There are currently a limited number or wheel systems setup for the Pick 4 or Pick 7 lotteries.

If you have a favorite wheel system that you would like me to include in my forecast let me know.

I know the wheel descriptions are not very good, I will be revising these as I have time.

Most of the wheel systems here come from books by others, some I have created myself, some have been generated by CoverMaster. When I revise the descriptions, I will add the source so you will know where the wheels come from.

Odds & Probability

I will agree that, if you purchase a single ticket to a single lottery then your chances are roughly 1 in a million (depending on the parameters of the lottery). However, you can improve your odds and returns by playing wheel systems, using numbers generated by computer analysis, and knowing when to play.

Tips For Playing

Never use Quick Picks (Pick your own numbers, even if you draw them from a hat)
Pool your money with others (this gives you the power to play bigger systems)
Use Wheel Systems (there are those who disagree, but I believe that this is because their definition of wheels is very narrow. There is a lot more to wheel systems than simple "full wheels")
Don't feel that it is necessary to play every drawing.
Keep in mind - no matter how good my forecasts are, it is still gambling (Murphy's Law can still intervene)
Play responsibly - after all it is only a game. If you have a gambling problem - seek help. I don't have a gambling problem, but according to those who know me best - I'm obsessed with the lottery.
